This file is to be used to set up your SupraFaxModem correctly when using Apple Modem Tool version 1.5. This Modem Definitions file can be used with all SupraFaxModem V.32, V.32bis, 144LC and 144PB units.
There are a few steps that must be followed in order to import the Modem Definitions included in this file into your Apple Modem Tool Connection Settings window.
• Launch the application that uses Apple Modem Tool
• Open your Connection Settings (this name may vary based upon the application you
are using
• Select "Modify this Menu" from the Modem pull down menu in the Modem Options
section of your settings window
• Select "Import" at the bottom of the window that opens
• Find the file "Supra AMT 1.5 Definitions" on your hard drive and select "Open"
• A list of modem definitions will be added to your system. You will see both Supra
and PSI modems have been added. You may click on "Done" if you do not need to
customize the initialization string.
• If you do wish to customize the initialization string used, scroll down to the
SupraFaxModem you have and select "Modify". (Note: If you have a SupraFaxModem
V.32 you can select the SupraFaxModem V.32bis selection).
• Once you have made your modifications select "OK" then "Done".
• That will bring you back to your Connection Settings window where you can now
select your SupraFaxModem from the pull down menu in the Modem Options box.
Upon completion of the above steps you will notice that some of the settings in the Port Settings box have been set for you. The Baud rate is set to 57,600 and the Handshaking is set to DTR & CTS (Hardware). If you need to adjust these settings or the settings for Data Bits, Stop Bits or Parity please do so now. (Note: for some Macintosh users it is necessary to set your baud rate to 19,200 to avoid errors).
